Eternal City

When I got to Rome, it was raining and I went into a trattoria for a meal of lasagne and wine. After that, it cleared up for a while, and I headed for the Roman Forums and other ancient sites quite near where I was staying. Of course, it being mid-November the light faded fast and soon after four o'clock it was getting dark. I took this shot with my Vanguard table tripod, and managed to get a few steady shots. I know this scene has been photographed time and time again, but for me it is still a special shot, as this was the first scene of Rome that I will always remember.
