Old Rauma

I must leave Munich for now (because of technical difficulties today with internet connection) and upload a photo from a few years back. This was taken in July 2006, during high summer, in Old Rauma, one of the biggest inhabited districts of wooden houses in the world, in western Finland.

How we all wait for the summer! The winter has dragged on forever, and seemingly not letting go easy. Yesterday, there was snow. Today, even as I write, dark clouds are gathering and there will be more sleet in a few minutes. The wind is cold, coming from the north. Is there no end to this, one might ask.

Yes, indeed there is room for optimism. According to the weather forecasts, within 12 hours or so the winds will change direction and start blowing from the West and South. From tomorrow, the temperature  raises, and will be 15 degrees by Friday. Unless, of course, there is a sudden change in the air (which we don't believe for a moment).
